The Team
We are seeking an accomplished and strategic Associate General Counsel to serve as lead legal counsel and trusted advisor to two specialized A&M divisions in North America: our Energy industry group (A&M Energy) and our Infrastructure and Capital Projects group (A&M INFRA). Reporting to a senior member of the A&M legal department, this key role represents a significant opportunity to establish and lead a comprehensive legal function while working closely with leadership of A&M Energy and A&M INFRA to navigate complex legal issues related to service contracts, compliance, and risk management. This is an ideal role for a senior legal professional seeking both immediate impact and substantial growth potential within a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. The ideal candidate brings deep experience in at least one predominant sector of infrastructure and/or large capital projects combined with sophisticated commercial contract expertise, demonstrated business judgment, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment and collaborate across organizational boundaries.
How You Will Contribute
• Lead comprehensive legal coverage for A&M Energy and A&M INFRA in North America, serving as the primary attorney actively supporting contracting and advising on complex legal and risk issues, including guiding on legal and risk matters relating to the growing global nature of these businesses.
• Draft, review, and negotiate client engagement letters, master service agreements, RFP responses, confidentiality agreements, vendor agreements, and other contracts.
• Provide legal counsel on risk management, compliance, and business operations.
• Evaluate and advise on legal matters related to intellectual property, confidentiality, conflicts of interest, technology, new service offerings and other matters relating to our A&M INFRA and Energy practices.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to A&M INFRA and Energy leaders and senior personnel, offering practical and actionable legal guidance.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and implement legal risk mitigation strategies.
Qualifications & Experience
• 7-15 years of progressively senior legal experience including significant in-house counsel experience, demonstrating the business acumen, strategic judgment, and leadership capability required to establish and manage a comprehensive legal function independently. Professional services or EPC firm experience preferred.
• Demonstrated expertise in matters related to large infrastructure or capital projects in energy, transportation & logistics, mining & metals with a sophisticated understanding of risk allocation, complex contractual arrangements, and multi-party stakeholder dynamics.
• Strong negotiation and drafting skills and proven ability to collaborate across organizational levels and geographies to build strong relationships.
• Law firm experience in corporate, commercial transactions or litigation preferred.
• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Active bar membership (NY or FL preferred).

The salary range is $200,000 - $250,000 annually, dependent on several variables including but not limited to education, experience, skills, and geography. In addition, A&M offers a discretionary bonus program which is based on a number of factors, including individual and firm performance. Please ask your recruiter for details.
