JOB TITLE: Associate AI Security Specialist

SALARY: 48,987 - 56,000 per annum (outside London)

57,150 - 66,000 per annum (London)

LOCATION: Leeds, Bristol, Edinburgh, Manchester, London

HOURS: Full-time - 35 hours

At Lloyds Banking Group, we're moving to the next stages of our digital transformation, and it's our job within the Chief Security Office (CSO) to ensure that we keep our customers, colleagues, and assets safe from threat.

The CSO's Security Data & AI Lab have an exciting opportunity for an Associate AI Security Specialist to support the secure design, implementation, and adoption of AI systems and applications across the Group.

This role focuses on enabling the safe and effective use of AI by embedding security controls, supporting engineering teams, and ensuring that AI solutions are built and operated in line with security standards. The role aligns to three key areas: supporting safe adoption, understanding attacker use/exploitation of AI, and applying AI to enhance security capability.

What we're looking for?

  • A degree in Cyber Security, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

  • Experience in cyber security or technology risk, with exposure to AI, data, or cloudbased environments desirable.

  • A solid understanding of core cyber security principles, including identity and access management (IAM), secure application design, and data protection.

  • Awareness of public cloud security concepts and tooling, with handson experience an advantage.

  • An interest in and understanding of AI technologies, including machine learning concepts and generative AI use cases.

  • Familiarity with security frameworks and regulations such as ISO 27001, NIST, or UK GDPR, and how these apply to AI systems.

  • Experience supporting technical implementation, validation, and testing of security controls within applications or platforms.

  • Strong analytical and organisational skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical partners and translate security requirements into actionable technical guidance.
