FT Flex (72 hours per pay) MRI Technologist

  • Stoney Batter
  • 3 12hr shifts per week
  • May rotate to all CCIS locations when needed.

Shift Hours:

  • Dayshift
  • Other hours as needed.

Responsible for:

Demonstrates complete knowledge and proficiency in the use of MRI units, radiology supported computer systems and CD burners.
Performs MRI procedures and quality control as defined by departmental protocols.
Performs MRI safety screenings for patients and researches implanted devices prior to scanning.
Maintains compliance with local, state, and federal regulations in ACR and state licenses. Complies with Joint Commission regulations.
Completes all technical assigned imaging and non-imaging procedures in the designated scheduled times.
Enters accurate patient study information into the clinical care systems.
Assist with the coordination of workflow and patient care activities.
Obtain clinical history regarding reason for examination and obtains appropriate consent.
Verifies insurance pre-authorization as defined by departmental protocols prior to scanning patient.
Maintains patient confidentially.
Uses 2 patient identifiers at all times.
Demonstrates ability to obtain IV access.
Ability to assess patient for adverse reactions and/or changes in patient status.
Demonstrates complete knowledge and proficiency in the use of contrast media injectors.
Demonstrates knowledge and ability to perform i-STAT testing and accurate calculation of GFR following established departmental policies and procedures.

Job Requirements:

MR Technologist-experience required.
ARRT Registered Technologist required.
ARRT Advanced MRI Certification required within 2 years of hire.
Cerner training required.
Excellent customer service/telephone skills required.
Flexibility in hours is required.
Flexibility to work at alternate locations as needed.
Ability to work independently

Education:
Completion of ARRT registry in radiologic technology required (two-year accredited program).
Completion of ARRT registry in MRI required (achieved within two years of hire).
State Licensure on Radiation Protection is required.
Completion of formal and/or on the job training on cross sectional anatomy.
An Associates degree is required; candidates are required to obtain their Associates of Sciencedegree (can be substituted within a related field), within three (3) years of their start date as outlinedin the Education Agreement required to be signed as a condition of employment.
Certification in CPR.
Yearly PEEPS certification required for proper and safe positioning and transfer of patients.

    This position pays $37.38 to $51.40 based on relevant experience.This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare's good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
