  • Serve as a subject matter expert on Cerner functionality and how it maps to clinical workflow and best practices.
  • Monitor and report on training metrics (number trained, competency achieved, user satisfaction, adoption rates).
  • Identify barriers to adoption, collaborate to optimize workflows, and update training content accordingly.
  • Travel frequently (often to client sites, sometimes nationally/internationally) depending on implementation roll-out.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the Cerner platform, new releases, and how they impact clinical workflows.

Typical Qualifications
  • Clinical background (for an "MD Trainer" working with physicians) - often an RN, MD, advanced practice clinician or equivalent clinical experience.
  • Prior experience in adult education/training, facilitation of physician/clinical staff training.
  • Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) - ideally Cerner modules (e.g., PowerChart, CPOE, Care Compass , FirstNet) or at least healthcare IT experience.
  • Strong understanding of clinical workflows (acute care, specialty care) and how technology supports them.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to travel - close to 100% on site.
  • Preferred: Bachelor's or Master's degree, certification in clinical informatics or training/education, previous go-live experience.
  • Familiarity with change management, adoption strategies, adult learning theory and training content development.
