Job description

We're looking for an Associate Buyer who is goal oriented and highly entrepreneurial to join our team! You'll support the Buyer in developing compelling seasonal assortments that bring pop culture to life for our customers. This role is part creative, part analytical and all collaboration. 
 
This role operates on a hybrid schedule and will require to work from our HQ located in the City of Industry, CA three days a week.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Achieve sales and margin objectives for seasonal buying plans; reach product objective quotas as defined by Buyer or DMM
  • Develop market analyses and business strategies to outline strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats in the fashion market; evaluate market continuously to revise our strategies
  • Execute balanced assortment by strategically selecting and purchasing products from vendor lines to create and enhance assortments based on trend data and partnering with Product Development team to develop product including sourcing and monitoring delivery of product and quality control
  • Analyze and negotiate proposals for product based on trend, price, delivery time, and quality to select the most appropriate vendors
  • Develop and maintain assortment plans and continuously assesses market to identify and react to trends
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Stores, Vendors, Distribution Center, Planning and Allocation, Marketing and Internet teams
  • Regularly attends fashion events to remain keen on current trends - fashion, music, culture, and other innovations regarding fashion
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
  • 2-3 years of progressive experience as an Assistant Buyer or Associate Buyer - developing, preparing, and implementing tactical plans in support of strategic company goals; E-commerce buying experience a plus and previous product development experience is helpful
  • Experience and ability to identify trends in the contemporary fashion market
  • Deep analytical and quantitative skills
  • You thrive in a team environment and are dedicated to giving a great experience to all internal and external partners, you're also a solid communicator - both verbal and written
  • Deadline & Results driven - you prioritize appropriately, cope well with change, and look for ways to resolve problems and issues
$70,000 - $75,000 a year
