Job Description

This position is represented by the Writers Guild of America East (WGAE).

MS NOW is seeking a highly organized, proactive, and editorially driven Booking Associate Producer to join The Briefing with Jen Psaki, our weekday 9 PM primetime program.

Key Responsibilities

  • Book wide variety of national and international newsmakers, experts, and guests from various fields with a focus on politics.
  • Conduct pre-interviews, secure facilities for remote interviews and arrange transportation for guests.
  • Assist in coordinating guest arrivals and communicate with control room and studio.
  • Arrange interviews for broadcasts during live, breaking news coverage.
  • Enterprise, conceptualize and pitch story and guest ideas.
  • Take on additional responsibilities as business and editorial needs evolve.
  • Partner with producers, assignment editors, booking teams, graphics, research, digital, and technical operations to support daily broadcasts and digital coverage.
  • Respond quickly and effectively to changing editorial priorities during breaking news and special-event coverage.
  • Ensure all editorial content meets the highest standards of accuracy, fairness, nuance, and journalistic integrity.
  • Responsibilities can evolve with the business need. 
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in television news, live television, preferably cable news, including researching information and tracking down guests or a comparable newsroom environment.
  • Deep knowledge of U.S. politics, current events, and the political news cycle.
  • Ability to manage multiple original projects and priorities simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines.
  • Strong understanding of major social media platforms, their audiences, and platform-specific content strategies.
  • Strong research, writing, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced newsroom environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to editorial accuracy.
  • Ability to comply with MS NOW Standards and Practices.

Additional Job Requirements:

  • Must be willing to work in Washington, D.C.
  • Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.
  • Must be willing and able to work flexible hours, under tight deadline pressure, including breaking news.

Salary range: $75,000-$80,000
