Job Description

Reporting to the Sr. Director of DTC Content Strategy, the DTC Booking Producer identifies, vets, and secures guests and live participants for content exclusive to the MS NOW Membership. This position joins a team of content strategists and producers bringing new content to MS NOW Members across areas such as news, politics, wellness, and culture.

This individual has impeccable judgment and enjoys connecting with new people. They have a track record of vetting guests for live news broadcasts, enjoys vetting participants for on-air programming, and understands the importance of fit when pairing a guest with an anchor or host. They are organized, independent, and a clear communicator when it comes to sharing logistics and ensuring guests understand on-air expectations and Standards. 

 This position is represented by the Writers Guild of America East. 

Responsibilities:

  • Book wide variety of national and international newsmakers, experts, and guests from various fields including politics, foreign relations, business/economy, health/medicine, family/parenting, entertainment, etc.
  • Book participants and guests to join in live interactive programming
  • Collaborate with on-air talent and producers to curate guests and participants
  • Conduct pre-interviews, secure facilities for remote interviews and arrange transportation for guests
  • Assist in coordinating guest arrivals for both live and taped production 
  • Arrange phone and virtual (Zoom, Vmix, etc.) interviews for broadcasts and live streams during live, breaking news coverage
  • Enterprise, conceptualize and pitch story and guest ideas with DTC content production team 
  • Other booking and production-related duties as needed to support DTC content
Qualifications
  • Must have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 6 years of experience in booking for live news television or radio, including vetting guests and managing guest logistics.

Desired Qualifications:

  • High emotional quotient and people skills are a must.
  • Sound journalistic judgment and strong organizational skills required. 
  • Strong knowledge of news, social media, and digital video.
  • Must be detail oriented and able to work under pressure and meet multiple daily deadlines.
  • Demonstrates flexibility with a rapidly changing news cycle and programming plans.
  • Ability to multi-task and adapt quickly to changing priorities.
  • Strong comfort with Zoom is required.
  • Knowledge of Premiere and Avid/Media Central, Riverside, Vmix preferred.

Additional Job Requirements:

  • Must be willing to work in New York, NY
  • Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.
  • Must be willing and able to work flexible hours, including potentially on weekends, and under tight deadline pressure, including breaking news.

Salary Range: $100,000 - $110,000
