Job Description

BDisseekinga highly skilled and experienced Systems Engineer to join our dynamic team.This position is part of the Advanced Patient Monitoring (APM) business unit within BD's medical segment, aligning with BD's smart connected care approachAs aPrincipalSystems Engineer, you will play a critical role in the design, development, and implementation of complex medical systems and devices.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical technology and a passion for developing innovative solutions that make a difference in healthcare. The willingness to be self-motivated, achieving results with minimal direction, having excellent problem-solvingskillsand ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment is key. A Strong communicatorutilizinginterpersonal skills, with ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders will ensure success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop systemrequirements and managementof traceability toneeds and subsystem requirements.

  • Drive technical root cause investigations, engagingappropriate R&D, quality, and vendor resources

  • Identify/create new product features and collaborate withsoftware development teamsthrough clear communication, wireframes, and storyboards

  • Navigate tasks through multi-functional teams during product development

  • Provide technical support to Regional Marketing and Sales teams for pre-sale efforts

  • Write and execute Design VerificationPlans andProtocols while effectively organizing, capturing, and analyzing test results

  • Work with sales, marketing, and quality/complaint handling teams for post-market surveillance

MinimumRequirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering

  • 5+ years of experience in a systems engineering role

  • Experience with complex electromechanical devices.

  • Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and quality standards in the medical device industry (ISO, IEC)

  • Experience with requirement management tools (Polarion,JAMA, or DOORS)

  • Availability for up to 25% domestic and international travel

Preferred Skills/Experience

  • Advanced degree in Systems Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering

  • Experience in systems engineering in the MedTech industry

  • Good understanding of design controls (IEC 62366, ISO 14971, 21 CFR 820)

  • Experience withclosed-loop controlsystems

  • Prior clinical experience in Critical Care monitoring (hemodynamic monitoring, vital signs monitoring), Interventional, Vascular, or Cardiac Surgery
