Conway Law Group, P.C. is seeking a full-time Bankruptcy Associate Attorney to join our growing Virginia bankruptcy practice.

The firm represents individuals and businesses throughout all divisions of the Eastern and Western Districts of Virginia in Chapter 7, Chapter 13, and Chapter 11 Subchapter V cases.

This is a remote position, although the attorney must reside in Virginia and be available for in-person court appearances when required, with appearances primarily in Richmond.

The position is designed for an attorney who wants to practice law rather than spend most of the day performing routine administrative work. Conway Law Group has an experienced support structure, including paralegals, legal assistants, a business manager, and a business-process outsourcing team in Mexico. Much of the document collection, client follow-up, case processing, and bankruptcy-document preparation is handled by support staff.

The associate's primary role is to provide legal advice, exercise professional judgment, review cases and petitions, resolve legal issues, counsel clients, and represent clients before trustees and the Bankruptcy Court.

• Conduct initial consultations and bankruptcy intakes with prospective clients.
• Provide legal advice regarding Chapter 7, Chapter 13, and Chapter 11 Subchapter V matters.
• Conduct attorney petition reviews with clients before bankruptcy cases are filed.
• Ensure clients understand their petitions, schedules, statements, plans, and other filing documents.
• Prepare clients for and represent debtors at § 341 Meetings of Creditors.
• Represent clients at bankruptcy court hearings throughout Virginia as necessary, with in-person appearances primarily in Richmond.
• Draft and review motions, objections, responses, proposed orders, and other bankruptcy pleadings.
• Address confirmation issues, claims, motions for relief from stay, motions to dismiss, plan modifications, discharge issues, and other matters arising during bankruptcy cases.
• Provide legal direction to paralegals and legal assistants when attorney involvement is required.
• Communicate with clients, trustees, creditors, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
• Work collaboratively with attorneys and support staff to resolve case issues efficiently.
• Attend weekly staff meetings and participate in the firm's case-management process.

• Jubilee Pro for bankruptcy petition preparation and drafting.
• Zoho CRM for case management, workflow, task management, and client-related processes.
• Extensive computerized workflows and automation.
• Artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies to improve legal and business operations.
• An experienced business manager and support team.
• A business-process outsourcing team in Mexico that handles substantial administrative and case-processing functions.

Experience with Jubilee Pro or Zoho is helpful but not required. Training will be provided.

• Active license to practice law in the Commonwealth of Virginia and in good standing.
• Minimum of two years of legal practice experience.
• Must reside in Virginia.
• Bankruptcy experience is preferred but not required.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Comfortable advising clients and exercising independent professional judgment.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines while working with a support team.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
• Willingness and ability to appear in bankruptcy courts throughout Virginia when necessary.
• Admission to the U.S. Bankruptcy Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Virginia is preferred, or the candidate must be eligible and willing to obtain admission.

The founder of Conway Law Group expects, over approximately the next five years, to devote an increasing portion of his time to agricultural and other business interests. Because this is a fully remote position, the attorney must have:

• A reliable high-speed internet connection.
• A professional and private workspace suitable for confidential client consultations, § 341 meetings, and remote court appearances.
• Reliable transportation for in-person court appearances when required.

This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Starting salary: $100,000 per year.

Court appearances and other case-related obligations may occasionally require scheduling outside normal working hours.
