Litigation Associate Attorney
Houston, TX
Description
Hartline Barger LLP, a nationally recognized trial law firm specializing in civil litigation, is seeking an attorney with 4+ years of litigation experience to join its growing Houston office. Personal Injury experience required. The ideal candidate will manage litigation cases and resolve legal disputes on behalf of our clients by developing agreements, negotiating contacts, settling claims and advocating for clients in court. This individual will build client relationships and provide an excellent customer experience for clients.
Requirements
  • Strong academic and litigation background
  • Exceptional writing and advocacy skills
  • Independently manage a caseload - from beginning to end
  • Work closely with other attorneys and Partners on a multitude of legal projects
  • Regularly handle court appearances and depositions
  • Take the lead with client communication and provide meaningful updates
  • Personal injury experience

Responsibilities:
  • Manage a caseload of complex commercial litigation matters from inception through trial or settlement
  • Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents
  • Prepare for and attend hearings, depositions, and mediation with witness responsibility
  • Prepare and draft legal documents on behalf of clients
  • Advise clients on business and legal transactions
  • Negotiate settlements for legal disputes
  • Comply with all legal standards and regulations
  • Perform administrative and management functions related to the practice of law

Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
  • Admission to the State Bar of Texas and in good standing
  • Previous experience in a Law Firm environment with an emphasis on Personal Injury
  • Ability to take and defend depositions
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to build rapport with clients
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
