Job description

The Barber Law Firm, a growing Personal Injury Law Firm, is looking for an associate attorney with interest and experience in Plaintiffโ€™s side personal injury. The position requires extensive client interaction, attention to detail, and the ability to self-manage. Candidates must be motivated, dedicated, self-starters.

This position requires the partial supervision of 4 legal assistants, approximately 350 pre-suit cases, and 20 litigation cases. Our attorneys immediately start earning a cut of all fees generated (pre-suit and litigation), which can dramatically increase your compensation.

Job Duties

  • Prepare and/or review legal documents, including litigation pleadings, demands, and written discovery.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure with or without direct supervision.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects at the same time.
  • Familiar with computerized databases and online services for legal research and electronic filings.
  • Knowledge of Federal and State rules and procedures.
  • Assuring readiness and correctness of file.
  • Answering phones professionally and providing excellent customer service.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • 1-3 years motor vehicle accident and/or personal injury litigation experience, preferred.
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Must be very accurate and detail oriented.
  • Knowledge of the Texas Rules of Civil Procedure.
  • Experience handling depositions, hearings, mediations, and trials.

Software Skills

  • Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Experience with heavy calendaring in a deadline driven office
  • Filevine and Trialworks case management experience a plus

Education

  • Must have a Bachelor's degree and Juris Doctorate, with an active Texas bar license.
