Job Title: Engineering Technician
Job Description

The Engineering Technician supports and maintains test systems used to verify consumer electronics on the production line. This role focuses on troubleshooting test equipment, implementing software and hardware updates, and ensuring test systems operate accurately and efficiently. The position involves analyzing technical requirements, documenting engineering activities, and collaborating with development teams to improve testing performance and reliability.

Responsibilities

  • Support and maintain test systems used for testing consumer electronics on the production line.
  • Troubleshoot test systems, identify root causes of issues, and implement effective resolutions.
  • Analyze technical requirements and the effort associated with test systems and products to support production needs.
  • Generate engineering documents, including schematics, diagnostics, flowcharts, and project status reports.
  • Configure and calibrate test systems to ensure accurate and reliable measurements.
  • Monitor the performance of testers and implement improvements to enhance tester efficiency and reliability.
  • Report software bugs and issues to the development team with clear documentation and supporting data.
  • Implement new software into test systems and perform software and hardware upgrades as needed.
  • Collaborate with production shop floor personnel to support smooth testing operations.
  • Manage multiple tasks and priorities while maintaining high quality and attention to detail.
  • Communicate professionally with customers and internal stakeholders in both written and verbal formats.
Essential Skills
  • Associate degree in a technical field or equivalent education and experience.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical and electronics principles.
  • 0–2 years of experience in test engineering and production shop floor environments.
  • Methodical, structured approach to solving engineering problems.
  • Basic knowledge of programming languages such as C, C#, C++, and Python.
  • Familiarity with JTAG, command-line interfaces (CLI), or Linux applications.
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills to track tasks and issues through completion.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret technical data and system behavior.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for documentation and stakeholder interaction.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a dynamic production environment.
  • Ability to interact professionally with customers in both written and verbal communications.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Understanding of Android and iOS phone testing processes is a plus.
  • Experience working with consumer electronics test systems is beneficial.

Pay and Benefits
