Job description

Amazon's Legal Department is looking for a talented attorney to fill the position of Associate Corporate Counsel to support portions of Amazon's global people experience (PxT), health benefits, corporate procurement, and operations supply chain teams. The role is responsible for the development of products and mechanisms to help scale transaction support across a wide variety of clients, negotiate business-critical agreements, and mitigate risks across dynamic global teams. You will be a key strategic partner, translating complex legal challenges into actionable insights that propel Amazon's business forward.
Key job responsibilities
- Invent and Improve Transaction at Amazon: Use existing and developing tools to help structure an internal center of excellence that can negotiation contracts as a service for different legal groups.
- Negotiate Complex Agreements: Structure, draft, and negotiate sophisticated supply chain, licensing, and commercial contracts
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate legal, reputational, and commercial risks for emerging business strategies
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate with internal and external subject matter experts on labor, employment, tax, and corporate compliance matters
A day in the life
You will work with a team of talented contract managers and attorneys to advise business teams and business line lawyers about Amazon's legal, reputational, and commercial risk tolerance. You will negotiate commercial transactions in a high-volume, high-velocity environment; advise on business strategies and the development of new business operations and technical products; and design, develop and implement new systems, templates, fallback positions, and tools to improve the efficiency and quality of Amazon contracts.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent
- 3+ years of post bar admission legal experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience handling ambiguous or undefined challenges through strong problem solving abilities
- Corporate law firm and/or in-house legal experience
- Proven ability to manage complex, multi-dimensional legal projects
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
