Job description

Design the Next Generation of Aerospace Propulsion Systems as a Mechanical Design Engineer!

Pay Rate: $59.00/hr

PDS Tech Commercial is seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join a highly collaborative aerospace engineering team focused on the development of advanced engine and Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) systems.

In this role, you'll participate in every phase of product development—from concept and design through analysis, manufacturing support, and customer engagement. You'll work alongside world-class engineering teams to create innovative solutions that meet the evolving needs of the aerospace industry.

If you're a skilled mechanical design engineer with strong NX, Teamcenter, and ASME Y14.5 experience, this is an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge aerospace programs.


What You'll Do Product Design & Development
  • Design and develop advanced aerospace components and systems

  • Participate in all phases of the product development lifecycle

  • Create innovative engineering solutions to complex technical challenges

  • Support the development of engine and APU products

CAD Modeling & Engineering Analysis
  • Perform mechanical design using NX CAD modeling tools

  • Generate detailed engineering drawings and models

  • Conduct engineering analysis and weight optimization studies

  • Evaluate design performance and manufacturability

Manufacturing & Cost Optimization
  • Apply Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles

  • Support cost estimation and manufacturing planning activities

  • Collaborate with production and manufacturing teams to improve designs

Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with multidisciplinary aerospace engineering teams

  • Participate in technical reviews and design presentations

  • Incorporate Voice of Customer feedback into product designs

  • Work closely with program stakeholders to ensure successful execution

Engineering Documentation
  • Generate and review engineering drawings

  • Ensure compliance with ASME Y14.5 GD&T standards

  • Review drawings created by other engineers for accuracy and completeness

  • Maintain engineering documentation through Teamcenter


Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in:

    • Mechanical Engineering

    • Aerospace Engineering

  • 6+ years of mechanical design engineering experience

  • Extensive experience using:

    • NX

    • Teamcenter

  • Experience supporting:

    • Aircraft engine design

    • APU (Auxiliary Power Unit) design

  • Strong knowledge and application of:

    • ASME Y14.5

    • Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)

  • Experience creating and reviewing engineering drawings

Pay Details: $59.00 per hour
