Job Description:

A veterinary team in Fairfield, Connecticut is seeking a compassionate and skilled Associate Veterinarian to deliver high-quality care in a progressive, AAHA-accredited hospital environment. This onsite role offers the opportunity to work collaboratively with an experienced team while using advanced tools and training resources to support excellent patient outcomes.

The ideal candidate is comfortable in a busy clinical setting, values teamwork, and is committed to exceptional pet care and client service. This role is well suited for a veterinarian who wants a supportive environment with strong professional development resources and long-term growth potential.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Examine and diagnose diseases and injuries of pets, primarily dogs and cats
  • Provide medical and surgical treatment as appropriate
  • Collaborate within the veterinary care ecosystem and communicate with referring veterinarians
  • Participate in ongoing education, seminars, and training to stay current in the field
  • Partner with operational and hospital leadership to maintain high care standards and strong patient outcomes
  • Administer core vaccinations and counsel clients on well-pet care
  • Perform dental procedures
  • Help create a positive environment for staff, clients, and pets
  • Manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and perform well in a fast-paced environment

MUST HAVES:

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree or equivalent from an accredited institution
  • Eligible to obtain Connecticut State Veterinary License
  • 2+ years of veterinary hospital experience preferred, though strong new graduates will be considered
  • Internship training preferred but not required
  • Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and collaborative approach to care
