Why This Role Matters
As a Benefits Account Manager, you'll serve as a trusted partner to clients by helping them navigate the complexities of employee benefits programs while ensuring a high-quality service experience. Your ability to manage renewals, open enrollment activities, and day-to-day client needs will directly contribute to client satisfaction, retention, and long-term success.
In this role, you'll oversee the full lifecycle of employee benefits accounts, working closely with Producers, carriers, and internal teams to support benefit plan administration and strategic client service. You'll play an important role in delivering seamless renewals, successful implementations, and responsive support that helps clients make informed decisions about their benefits programs.
How You'll Make an Impact
  • Serve as the primary contact for assigned employee benefits clients, providing proactive and responsive service throughout the year.
  • Manage the full lifecycle of benefit plans, including requests for proposals, renewals, onboarding, implementation, and open enrollment activities.
  • Coordinate renewal processes by gathering carrier quotes, evaluating plan options, and supporting recommendations alongside Producers.
  • Partner with carriers to resolve claims, eligibility, enrollment, and coverage-related questions efficiently.
  • Oversee new client implementations to ensure a smooth transition, accurate plan setup, and successful employee enrollment.
  • Prepare and distribute client-facing and employee-facing materials, including benefit guides, enrollment resources, and compliance documentation.
  • Maintain accurate account records, plan information, and premium data within agency management and CRM systems.
  • Collaborate across teams to ensure a consistent, high-quality client experience and timely issue resolution.

  • Active Michigan Life & Health insurance license.
  • Associate degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and agency management or CRM systems.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively support client relationships.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams in a service-focused environment.

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field.

Pay Range: Posted below*
*Any job offer is based upon a salary analysis to comply with applicable state pay transparency laws, considering relevant experience, education, certifications, and seniority as compared to others doing substantially similar work.
