Job description

1. Purpose and ScopeThe Associate Director Training Program is a means to attract prospective candidate(s) to serve on the Keys Federal Credit Union (KFCU) Board of Directors. This program will provide the opportunity for the Associate Directors to experience the duties and responsibilities of a director during the normal monthly meeting and special committee assignments without voting authority. This program does not guarantee those that serve in the Associate Director program a position on the Board of Directors. Associate Director members interested in obtaining a seat on the board will need be nominated for election during the annual membership meeting. 2. Appointment ProcedureCandidates will submit a questionnaire/resume to the Associate Director Committee that lists, among other things, the applicant's interests, availability, eligibility, background, and qualifications.Depending on the number of applications submitted, the Associate Director committee can select up to three qualified candidates from the list. Personal interviews will be left to the discretion of the Associate Director Committee.At the next convening board meeting, the Associate Director Committee will make known the individuals selected. Resumes and any other applicable material will be presented to the Board of Directors for their review and comment. Once the review process is complete, the Board of Directors will then vote to approve/disapprove the appointment of the prospective candidates(s). The Associate Director committee will notify by letter and in a timely manner those applicants that were not considered for selection to the Associate Director program. 3. Terms of AppointmentAppointees will serve a minimum of one-year term.Terms will be at the discretion for the Associate Director Committee with the majority approval of the Board.Appointments will generally occur each April after the reorganization meeting or by special consideration during the current board year.4. Candidate RequirementsThe candidate must be a member in good standing of the KFCU.The candidate must agree to an KFCU background and credit report investigation.The approved candidate must adhere to all Keys Federal Credit Union Policies.The approved candidate(s) will be required to sign the Confidentiality Policy Pledge. 5. Keys Federal Credit Union Terms of Agreement for Associate DirectorsI, the undersigned, fully understand and do hereby agree that to serve as an Associate Director on the Board of Directors of the Keys Federal Credit Union, I will conform to and abide by the following:  Make myself available to attend regular monthly Board meetings and functions of the credit union as directed by the Chairman of the Board or committee chairman unless prevented by circumstances beyond my control. Maintain the confidentiality of credit union information, operations, and member information.Strive to continually learn more about the credit union movement, organization, operations, services, and my individual responsibilities as an Associate Director by availing myself of appropriate educational opportunities.Ensure that I have no conflicts of interest, actual or perceived, but if one should arise, I will immediately disclose it to the Chairman of the Board. Participate to the best of my ability in matters coming before the Board.Complete the Credit Union National Association's Volunteer Achievement Program Board of Director's Module.Conduct myself in a professional manner that will reflect favorable on the credit union and adhere to the highest standards of ethics and business conduct.
