Their tasks can include managing schedules, handling correspondence, organizing meetings, preparing documents, and performing various clerical duties. Depending on the workplace, assistants may also help with research, travel arrangements, or basic project management. Their role is essential for ensuring that operations run smoothly and efficiently. Assistants often serve as the first point of contact and play a key part in facilitating communication and workflow.

To thrive as an Assistant, strong organizational abilities, time management, and proficiency in office procedures are essential, typically supported by a high school diploma or associate degree. Job description

Do you want to empower pet owners to give their pets the best life? We are a patient-first, client-dedicated, and progressive clinic, driven by our passion for providing compassionate, personalized care for clients' best friends.
We are looking for a full-time Veterinary Assistant who excels at keeping things organized, assisting with patient care, and thrives in a tidy, collaborative environment. This is your chance to join a positive clinic that values your dedication to animals and gives you the opportunity to make a real difference in their lives.
What Sets Us Apart?
  • Our People: We cherish our team dynamics and the joy we bring to work every day. The ideal candidate has a positive attitude, is comfortable with the occasional four-letter word, and adopts a proactive "if I don't know the answer, I'll find someone who does" approach to challenges.
  • Client and Patient Priority: Our patients come first, always. Keeping things low-stress for our animal visitors is a big deal for us-we love seeing them happy to come in! We strive for the best possible medical outcomes, supported by a client base that respects and values our dedication.
  • Rapid Growth: Since acquiring the practice in November 2020, we've expanded from 4 to 18 team members, including the addition of a third DVM. Additionally, our clinic has recently undergone a full remodel, enhancing our facilities to better serve our clients and their pets. We're growing fast and need your help to support this expansion.
  • Work-Life Balance: We don't just talk about work-life balance-we live it. We understand everyone's balance looks different, and we support each other to ensure life doesn't take a backseat when it's needed most. We operate as a cohesive unit, stepping up for each other and sharing a genuine enjoyment in our work that reflects in everything we do-from patient care to client relations and team interactions.
  • Our Environment: No corporate red tape-enjoy the freedom of an independently-owned practice where your input is valued and your professional growth is supported.

What's a Day Like as a Veterinary Assistant at Cobb & Co?
As a Veterinary Assistant, you'll start each day ensuring the clinic is clean and well-equipped. A significant part of your role involves patient restraint and care, ensuring safety and comfort for all our patients. You'll also engage actively in our training program, developing skills that enhance your ability to support veterinary staff in delivering high-quality care. Your day will be busy and impactful, requiring effective multitasking and teamwork.
What You'll Bring:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Veterinary experience preferred.
  • At least 1 year of animal handling experience.
  • Exceptional client service, communication, and multitasking skills.
  • Friendly, outgoing, and compassionate personality.
  • Ability to read animal behavior and handle various temperaments safely.
  • Strong computer, basic math, and multitasking abilities.
  • Fluent in English; Spanish proficiency preferred (pay differential available).
  • Physical capability for frequent standing, walking, and occasional sitting, climbing, and kneeling.
  • Able to lift up to 40 pounds unaided (assistance available for heavier loads).
  • Excellent vision and effective verbal communication skills.

The Nuts & Bolts:
  • Health insurance
  • Vision insurance
  • Dental insurance
  • 401k with employer match
  • Competitive salary
  • PTO/vacay
  • CE opportunities/allowance
  • Professional dues
  • Uniform allowance
  • Flexible schedule
  • EAP
  • Employee Discount

In a Nutshell:
Our people are awesome, our benefits are awesome, our culture is awesome ... are you ready for this?! If so...we would love to meet you! Call us, or stop on by anytime.
We are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, pregnancy, age, national origin, disability status, genetic information, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
