Description
The Department of Events and Visitor Services at Jackson State University is accepting applications for its Event Assistant position.
Examples of Duties
  • Assist with the planning, coordination, and execution of university-wide events as assigned by the Director.
  • Provide technical support for university events, including support for all satellite campuses as needed.
  • Ensure university policies and procedures are clearly communicated and upheld by all individuals and organizations utilizing campus facilities.
  • Support the Director, Assistant Director, and Operations Coordinator with all aspects of event operations.
  • Assist with event setup, breakdown, decor implementation, and on-site logistics as assigned.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records of departmental technical equipment and event-related assets.
  • Track event services data and assist in preparing weekly, monthly, and annual departmental reports.
  • Oversee the management and maintenance of the department's website and social media platforms, including posting approved photography, video content, and event updates.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
