Job description

Schedule: Full Time | 40 hours per week | Monday - Friday | 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
Department: Participant Care | LifeCircles PACE | Holland, MI
What You'll Do In This Role:
The Medical Assistant plays a vital role in delivering compassionate, participant-centered care to adults age 55 and older enrolled in the PACE program. Working alongside an interdisciplinary team, this position provides hands-on clinical support in the adult day center, outpatient clinic, participant homes, and long-term care settings. By delivering high-quality care in a variety of environments while following PACE regulations and best practices, the Medical Assistant helps participants maintain their health, independence, and quality of life. 
Clinical Support:
  • Collaborate with CNAs, nurses, and medical providers to meet patient care needs.
  • Take medical histories, obtain vital signs, and room patients for examinations.
  • Collect and prepare laboratory specimens and assist with minor procedures.
  • Complete and/or assist with procedures appropriate for scope of practices including but not limited to EKGs, ear flushes, and hearing screens.
  • Administer medications and immunizations as directed by a provider.
Administrative Support:
  • Perform data entry and maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR).
  • Answer phone calls, manage patient inquiries, and coordinate with outside providers including facilities (Assisted Living Facilities, Skilled Nursing Facilities, Adult Foster Care Homes, and consultant offices).
  • Assist with the ordering and organization of medical supplies; ensuring inventory is stocked.
Team Collaboration:
  • Work closely with the interdisciplinary team, day center tearm, and scheduling team to ensure integrated and coordinated care.
  • Participate in team meetings and training sto stay current on practices and procedures.
Additional Duties:
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines.
  • Contribute to a positive workplace culture and perform other assigned tasks.

  • Current Medical Assistant certification in the State of Michigan from an accredited program
  • Prior experience with phlebotomy
  • One year of experience working with the frail elderly, long-term care population or end-of-life care, preferred
  • CPR certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
