Summary:We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to join our team in Edmonton, Alberta. This part-time, permanent role is ideal for an entry-level candidate looking to gain valuable experience in the accountancy industry. The successful applicant will support our accounting department by performing various clerical tasks, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in our financial operations.Responsibilities: Assist with the preparation of financial documents such as invoices, bills, and accounts payable and receivable.

Complete purchase orders and manage billing and invoicing. Ensure the timely collection of payments. Monitor client accounts for irregularities and delayed payments.

Update internal accounting databases and spreadsheets. Report on the status of accounts payable and receivable. Support monthly payroll and keep organized records.

Conduct routine administrative tasks to support the accounting department. Qualifications: Proven experience as an accounting assistant or in a similar role. Good knowledge of bookkeeping procedures and debt collection regulations.

Hands-on experience with accounting software. Advanced skills in QuickBooks and MS Excel (creating spreadsheets and using financial functions). Familiarity with basic accounting principles.

Professional manner and strong ethical code. Ability to multitask and remain motivated and positive. Commitment to working efficiently and accurately.
