JOB SUMMARY

Excell Marketing is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Payroll Practitioner to join our team. This role plays a critical part in supporting payroll operations, employee data management, benefits administration, incentive compensation processing, expense administration, and workforce reporting. The ideal candidate enjoys working with data, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in delivering accurate, timely support to employees and business partners across the organization.

This position offers the opportunity to work closely with Payroll, Human Resources, Finance, Operations, and Leadership teams while serving as a key contributor to employee support and operational success.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Payroll & Compensation Support

• Process payroll and payroll remittance activities, ensuring timely and accurate completion of payroll cycles.

 • Process and upload payroll-related transactions, including warehouse incentives, salary increases, and year-end bonus payments.

 • Support payroll-related communications and assist employees with payroll inquiries.

 • Distribute paper payroll checks as needed.

 • Monitor and process California meal period penalty items, ensuring timely review and resolution.

Benefits & Employee Administration

• Complete benefit and retirement plan uploads and related system updates.

 • Maintain accurate employee records and support employee lifecycle updates.

 • Process vacation balance resets and maintain employee time-off information.

 • Assist with new hire onboarding activities through required uploads, system updates, and administrative setup.

 • Serve as administrator for employee security badges.

Timekeeping & Expense Administration

• Support accurate payroll processing through timecard monitoring and follow-up communications.

 • Partner with managers and employees to resolve timekeeping discrepancies in a timely manner.

 • Administer expense-related processes, including uploads, mileage tracking, and personal vehicle records.

Reporting & Business Support

• Prepare, maintain, and distribute recurring weekly and monthly reports for leadership teams.

 • Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and confidentiality of payroll, employee, incentive, benefit, and expense data.

 • Collaborate with internal departments to resolve questions, validate information, and support key administrative deadlines.

 • Identify opportunities to improve processes and enhance operational efficiency.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and quality.

 • Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive employee and compensation information.

 • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet recurring deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

 • Experience working with payroll systems, reporting tools, HRIS platforms, or expense management systems preferred.

 • Strong communication, customer service, and follow-up skills.

 • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office applications, and reporting tools preferred.

 • Ability to build positive working relationships across multiple departments and levels of the organization.

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

This role partners closely with Payroll, Human Resources, Finance, Field Operations, Warehouse Leadership, and other internal departments to ensure payroll transactions, employee updates, incentive payments, expense administration, and reporting activities are completed accurately, confidentially, and on schedule.
