HOK is seeking an Interior Design Professional to join our Kansas City studio. The Interior Design Professional will contribute to a collaborative, integrated design practice and provide support to project teams across multiple phases of design and documentation while building technical, design, and professional skills.
Responsibilities
  • Support project teams through all phases of project delivery, from concept design through construction documentation.
  • Modify and prepare production drawings during the design development phase.
  • Develop solutions to basic technical and design challenges with guidance from Interior Designers and other project team members.
  • Develop interior design concepts, space plans, finish palettes, and design presentations.
  • Prepare interior drawings, details, and schedules usingRevit and other design tools.
  • Coordinate interior design elements with architectural, engineering, and consultant teams.
  • Revise and update drawings and documents based on team and client feedback.
  • Correct, update, and maintain design documents in accordance with established standards.
  • Apply firm standards, project requirements, and quality control procedures.
  • Incorporate sustainable design principles into interior design solutions and workplace practices.
  • Maintain a strong commitment to internal collaboration and external client service.
  • May mentor and assist in directing the work of less experienced staff.

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture from an accredited program.
  • 2 to 4 years of professional experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Sports + Recreation + Entertainment Project Experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of building codes, interior detailing and materials is preferred.
  • LEED credential required within 6 months of employment.
