Cleveland Clinic offers comprehensive radiology services including diagnostics, nuclear imaging, interventionalproceduresand radiation oncology. Diagnostic imaging, such as ultrasound, X-ray, MRI (magnetic resonance imaging), and CT (computed tomography), help physicians diagnose or better understand certain conditions. Our experienced radiologists read and interpret images to offeradditionaldiagnostic information to primary care or other referring physicians.

By joining the team as a Radiology Assistant, you will work alongsideRadiology Techs, moving and transporting patients, performing roomturnoversand providing anyadditionalassistance they may need. This isa great opportunitytoimprove yourskillsand be exposed to the Radiology environment.All your work will help set the tone with the patient for their visit to the department.

Acaregiver in this position worksdays| 7:00am-5:30pm.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

  • Provide a wide variety of services andassistanceto patients and visitors of all ages.

  • Greet patients and families upon arrivalatthe radiology area.

  • Escort patients to theappropriate roomandassistpatients with putting on a gown and moving on/off the table.

  • Ensurephysicalcomfort and safety of the patient at all times.

  • Assurex-ray rooms are clean and equipped withappropriate suppliesand equipment for each patient.

  • Observe patients for medical status and potential needofnursing care, physician care,oxygenor other care and quickly obtain properassistance.

  • Review x-ray requisition and computer exam forms todeterminethe type of x-rayrequired.

  • Place transport orders from radiology to floors and units.

  • Process orders in the radiology information system, including scheduling, trackingexamsand films.

  • Process downtime and transport orders.

  • Perform routine duties related to patient care such asassistingwith bedpans or in the washroom.

  • Perform courier functions as assigned.

  • Take films to theappropriate areafor film library processing and deliver filmsto requesting areas.

  • Transport specimens tolabfor processing.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • HighSchoolDiploma or GED

  • One year of related experience in a physician office,hospitalor clinical settinginvolvingpatient care or customer service

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time; must lift and carry items weighting up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to assist with positioning and transporting patients, i.e., pushing beds, stretchers and wheelchairs.
  • Requires the ability to maneuver equipment and motor coordination to operate equipment.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Pay Range

Minimum hourly: $15.25

Maximum hourly: $22.25
