Job description

Description

  The Small Parcel Associate reports directly to the Warehouse Supervisor and is responsible for all picking, packing, and shipping activity within the small parcel cell, the final station in the warehouse's cradle-to-grave process. This position picks, packs, and ships small parcel orders via UPS, FedEx, and USPS, ensuring every order is accurate, properly packaged, and shipped on time. This position is physically demanding and requires standing, lifting, and walking for up to 8 hours. The job requirements below reflect the current essential functions and are not meant to be all inclusive. Duties and responsibilities may be assigned or reassigned to this job at any time. Overtime is required when determined by management.

Specific ResponsibilitiesPrimary Job Duties

Pick, pack, and ship small parcel orders accurately and efficiently to meet company standards for safety, security, and productivity

Own the completeness and correctness of every order filled through the small parcel cell, as the final checkpoint before the order leaves the building

Select and apply the correct carrier and service (UPS, FedEx, or USPS) for each shipment based on destination, weight, and service requirements

Operate UPS WorldShip, FedEx Ship Manager, and USPS shipping software to generate labels, shipping documentation, and tracking information

Ensure all outbound shipments are properly packaged, labeled, and free of damage

Identify parts accurately for error-free picking, packing, and shipping

Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area in the small parcel cell

Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety

Follow directions and communicate order or shipment issues to the Warehouse Supervisor

Assist with physical inventory and cycle counting as needed

Assist all employees as required

Requirements

Be able to stand and walk for up to 8 hours

Heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs.)

Work under warehouse conditions

Must be able to operate or be willing to learn to operate a pallet jack and various hand tools/power tools used in the small parcel cell

Must have the ability to handle changes, short lead times, and changing priorities daily
