The Opportunity:
The Seasonal Guest Services Generalist plays a critical all-hands-on-deck role at Unity Environmental University's Sky Lodge campus, ensuring an exceptional experience for all guests by supporting both front- and back-of-house operations. This role blends hospitality, food service, and facilities support. Whether checking in guests, prepping meals, or refreshing guest spaces, the Generalist brings flexibility, professionalism, and warmth to every interaction.
Day to day responsibilities:

  • Welcome and register guests with professionalism and a strong customer-service orientation.
  • Support the preparation, service, and cleanup of meals and events in alignment with food safety and hospitality standards.
  • Assist in maintaining cleanliness of guest rooms, public areas, and dining spaces to meet Sky Lodge expectations.
  • Manage reservations and the point-of-sale system; handle payments, issue receipts, and maintain accurate records.
  • Serve meals and beverages to guests, students, and group visitors in a friendly and efficient manner.
  • Respond to guest inquiries, feedback, and concerns in real-time, escalating issues to the Guest Services Manager when needed.
  • Conduct routine walk-throughs to identify housekeeping or maintenance needs and report issues promptly.
  • Light landscaping and maintenance work.
  • Flex between departments as needed to ensure cohesive operations and smooth transitions between events or guest stays.
  • Participate in team briefings and contribute ideas to improve guest experience and operational efficiency.
  • Other duties as assigned in support of Sky Lodge's mission and programming.

Do you have the skills?

  • Prior experience in customer service, hospitality, food service, or housekeeping preferred but not required.
  • Strong communication and multitasking skills with a willingness to jump into any task needed.
  • An entrepreneurial mindset and revenue-focused attitude. 
  • Serve Safe certification, TIPS, and allergen awareness completed upon hire.
  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks & projects with superb accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to look for, suggest, and implement improved efficiencies.
  • Implements a hands-on approach to effectively manage the quality of daily operations. 
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and be on your feet for extended periods.
  • Weekend and evening availability.

Work Schedule:
Work hours are specific to the requirements of this position and can include days, evenings, and weekends. Working extended hours required as needed. Must be flexible and cooperative in fulfilling responsibilities and meeting the Institution’s needs. Although Unity Environmental University employees are generally scheduled to work at their specifically assigned locations, there are times when travel is necessary and employees are required from time to time to attend events, meetings or work temporary assignment at any Unity Environmental University location.
 

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, it is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand or walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The use of either hand for repetitive movements such as grasping, grasping and turning, and fine manipulation is required as is the ability to use the telephone for internal and external communications.
