Job description

Position Summary
Safely and professionally operates company vehicles (including automobiles, mini-vans, cargo vans, box trucks, and wheelchair-accessible vans) to transport adults and children with disabilities. Provides courteous assistance to passengers while maintaining vehicle safety and cleanliness.
Note: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Essential Functions:
Passenger Assistance & Transport
? Safely transport passengers to and from destinations.
? Assist passengers with entering/exiting the vehicle, buckling seat belts, using wheelchair lifts, and loading/unloading wheelchairs, walkers, baggage, and other mobility aids.
? Communicate positively with passengers, promoting dignity, choice, and respect while acting as an appropriate role model.
? Perform vehicle sweeps after each trip to ensure no passenger is left behind.
Vehicle Inspection, Maintenance & Safety
? Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and complete checklists.
? Keep vehicles clean, polished, and in safe operating condition.
? Report any maintenance issues to the appropriate administrator immediately.
? Follow all safe driving practices, Arizona Vehicle Code laws, and company policies.
Documentation & Compliance
? Complete required transportation logs, incident reports, and other documentation accurately and on time.
? Maintain strict confidentiality of all passenger and agency information in accordance with company policy and state/federal laws.
Other Duties
? Perform miscellaneous errands, deliveries, and pick-ups as assigned.
? Occasionally transition into Direct Care Provider roles at programs, special events, or in the community (see separate job description).
? Complete other duties as assigned by the Transportation Manager/Director.
