Job description

  • Assist in all transportation needs not excluding any private VIP transfers or needs from other departments or locations

  • Oversee daily transportation and scheduling of drivers and vehicles. 

  • Maintain all registration, maintenance, cleaning and execution of all bookings created as requested.  

  • Ensuring that items needed for RED are cleared, sourced and/or delivered to their respective locations.

  • Day-to day management of ground based group and transient transportation 

  • Assistance with Purchasing, logistics and licensing of vehicles 

  • Hiring, training and compliance of drivers

  • Management of any sub-vendor relationship 

  • Coordination of group and transient guest movements including airport meet and greets and hotel arrivals and departures

  • Driving vehicles as necessary 

  • Execute island tours and site visits as assigned

  • Assist as assigned with any ground based logistics in support of RED’s USVI operations which could include the movement of goods and/or associates.

  • Manifesting and confirmation of all group’s arrivals and departures, coordination with client and RED sales team as assigned 

  • Ensure that all vehicles are maintained and insured

  • Ensure employees are trained and aware of duties and functions. 

  • Create checklists, policies and operational systems for the transportation department. 

  • Assist with advertising, marketing and sales for the Transportation Department. 

  • Other projects/tasks as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:       

  • High School Diploma or its equivalent from an accredited institution 

  • Valid USVI driver’s license 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Must be able to walk on various types of surfaces including rough terrain, sitting, standing, maintaining balance, climbing stairs, ladders, and inclines, working alone and in remote areas.

  • Must be able to work various work settings such as exposure to sunlight, outside temperature extremes, exposure to smoke, noxious odors, fumes, chemicals, solvents, and oils.  

  • Ability to meet the physical demands which include physical strength, agility, and endurance.  May include walking, standing, stooping, bending, lifting, or pushing 50lbs.

  • Knowledge of the principles of basic report preparation.

  • Knowledge of vehicles regulations and safe practices. 

  • Knowledge of the principles and procedures of reliable data collection and recordkeeping.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all persons contacted during work.

  • Ability to operate assigned equipment, read and interpret documents. 

  • Ability to multi-task.

  • Ability to speak and write clearly and concisely.

  • Ability to record and supervise procedures and to prepare reports and statements from such records.

  • Ability to analyze problems and to recognize and develop pertinent data therefrom with strong attention to detail. 

  • Must be able to operate with little or no supervision.  

  • Must be willing to work overtime, nights, and weekends. 

  • Must have strong interpersonal skills and positive attitude.Â
