Job Summary
The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for an Assistant to the Athletics Director. The Assistant for the Athletics Department provides administrative, operational and strategic support to the Director of Athletics and senior leadership team. This role serves as a central coordinating point for departmental communications, scheduling, special projects and executive operations, ensuring efficient workflows across all athletics units. This position manages complex calendars, prepares meeting briefs and correspondence, oversees document and data organization and supports departmental budget, travel and compliance processes. The position facilitates collaboration among coaches, staff, campus partners and external stakeholders, acting with discretion, professionalism and a strong understanding of NCAA, conference and institutional priorities. Through proactive problem-solving, exceptional attention to detail and a service-oriented mindset, enhances leadership effectiveness and contributes to the overall success, culture and daily operations of the Athletics Department.

Responsibilities
  • Manage calendars, meetings, travel and correspondence for athletic leadership.
  • Serve as primary administrative contact for the department.
  • Prepare and edit reports, documents and communications.
  • Coordinate event logistics and departmental meetings.
  • Liaise with coaches, campus departments, community partners and external stakeholders.
  • Assist with the planning and execution of fundraising, donor relations activities and community engagement events.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Working knowledge of all office equipment, computer software, and administrative procedures.
  • Strong communication, organization and time-management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to learn university systems.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.

Required Qualifications
  • Associate's degree required
  • Two to Four years administrative or executive support experience.
  • Must be willing to obtain certifications in CPR/First Aid

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's preferred.
