The State of New Hampshire, Department of transportation, Bureau of Aeronautics, has a full-time vacancy for an Aviation Program Assistant.
SUMMARY:
To assist in the planning, development, coordination, and implementation of statewide aeronautics programs, including federal and state funding initiatives, registration systems, and other aeronautical services. Provide comprehensive support to personnel within the Bureau by performing a variety of duties to ensure the efficient operation and success of aeronautical programs across the state.
YOUR EXPERIENCE COUNTS: Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience and/or each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Experience: Equivalent combination of 3 years of education and experience after completion of high school. Education and experience may be in aviation, business, accounting, aviation management, public administration, program development or related filed.
License/Certification: Valid driver's license and access to transportation
Other Requirements: Applicant's Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) must meet the minimum standards established by the hiring agency.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Receives and processes applications for aviation planning, registration, and NAVAID programs. Oversees a computerized database of aeronautical registration programs and ensures updates are made annually. Computes fees and issues various registration certificates.
Formulates, recommends, and presents regulations for the adoption, development, and compliance of registration standards for the Bureau. Assists in conducting research related to compliance and performs on-site registration inspections at airports.
Handles financial accounting for the Federal Airport Improvement Program and state assistance programs, including grant and payment processing, database maintenance, and the preparation of necessary reports.
Responds to and provides guidance for extensive public and internal inquiries regarding aeronautical registration and airport programs.
Compiles and documents information for the closeout of federal and state-funded projects and maintains project archives.
Supports the development of Administrative Rules for the Bureau.
Reviews, oversees, and coordinates updates to the Bureau's website to ensure the timely dissemination of current information. Collaborates with information technology staff on website development.
Researches, prepares, and processes financial payments and reports for the Aircraft Operating Fee, Tax Reimbursement Program, Grants to Airport Sponsors, 80/20 Program, Aeronautical Fund, and other financial assistance programs for airports managed by the Bureau.
Supervises employees in the administrative unit, with responsibilities including scheduling work, approving leave, reviewing work for accuracy, conducting performance appraisals, and interviewing applicants for vacant positions.
Performs and ensures the completion of office inventory tasks and audits documents related to the Bureau's vehicles and equipment.
