Job description

The Assistant Program Director is responsible for the operational functions of the accredited GME training programs with oversight and direction from the Program Director.

The position requires a comprehensive and detailed understanding of the national accreditation policies and hospital policies, as well as a high degree of initiative and independent judgment.

The Assistant Program Director should be organized in planning, assisting with maintaining continuing accreditation, recruiting of trainees, projects, analyzing and maintaining databases, communicating with faculty and trainees regarding a range of issues and managing internal and external program relations.

Qualified candidates must have working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and GME databases.  Assistant Program Director will work in the residency clinic and have administrative duties as well.

This position is 50% Clinical and 50% Administrative

Physician must have experience working the inpatient floors as this will be a large part of the role.

REQUIREMENTS:

MD degree
Current board certification by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM)
Current medical licensure in the state of Missouri
A minimum of five years' experience as core faculty member in an ACGME-accredited Internal Medicine residency program
Previous significant GME experience such as associate program director, program director or site director
An entrepreneurial spirit to engage collaborators within and outside the university and to attract highly qualified and committed trainees and faculty
Knowledge and experience in teaching and working in an underserved or marginalized community
