Responsibilities

Summary:

The Lead Case Manager position maintains and ensures full and accurate resident accountability. It oversees the security and safety of the facility, staff and residents. The Lead Case Manager trains Case Managers in their duties which follow Company and client contractual requirements.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • The Lead Case Manager ensures compliance with standard Company policies and procedures in the assigned unit.
  • Provides and documents supervision sessions for staff and residents under their supervision regarding their developmental skills and progress.
  • The Lead Case Manager conducts all essential functions of a Case Manager (intake, assessment, counseling, case management, documentation, etc.).
  • Works directly with the Case Manager Supervisor to oversees and address resident behavior, as well as the general maintenance of safety and security on the unit.
  • The Lead Case Manager provides crisis intervention and reviews disciplinary summary sheets for the residents to ensure appropriate dispensing of discipline.
  • Reviews & audits the clinical charts assigned to the clinical staff on duty.
  • Presents Curriculum Lectures and groups as directed.
  • Conducts weekly Clinical Intervention Committee Meetings (CIC).
  • The Lead Case Manager trains Case Managers in their duties and provides constructive feedback as needed in order to promote employee development of necessary clinical skill set.
  • Ensures all activities of the clinical program during the assigned shift are performed
  • The Lead Case Manager provides assistance as a Case Manager to carry a small caseload when needed.
  • Acts in the role of Case Manager Supervisor when directed.
  • Supervises all Case Manager activities.
  • Provides disciplinary or coaching sessions to Case Managers
  • Oversees security check points and resident movement.
  • Maintains precise resident headcount.
  • Monitors resident reception and discharge activity including resident file maintenance.
  • Maintains a substance abuse tracking system for resident drug screenings. 
  • Conducts operation Case Manager 90-days progress reports and annual performance reviews.
  • Provides leadership and guidance to Case Managers.
  • Keeps staff informed of upcoming events and Company initiatives.
  • Participates in mandatory company training programs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree or at management’s discretion, a combination of education and relevant work experience totaling four (4) years along with a CADC certification. Master's Degree and/or CADC certification preferred.
  • Three (3) years of experience in management, supervision and service delivery in a corrections or long term residential environment.
  • Knowledge of the field of addictions or mental health counseling preferred.
  • Ability to effectively manage time and organize skills.
  • Ability to adhere to strict deadlines.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work overtime is mandatory for this position. Refusal to perform overtime duty will result in disciplinary action up to and including termination.
  • Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department.
