Job description

Windsor’s Corporate Office is excited to welcome an Assistant Fit Technician to our dynamic buying team! In this role, you’ll play a key part in ensuring every SKU fits our customer perfectly by quickly and accurately communicating modifications to vendors and the buying team. The following duties and qualifications outline what it takes to make each piece truly shine. Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Fit each sku that has been ordered by the Buying Department with the supervision of an associate fit technician and/or the Sr. Fit Technician.
  • Must be comfortable processing a high volume of skus daily
  • Effectively communicate and suggest fit corrections to buyers in line with their design and style
  • preferences
  • Articulate and write detailed instructions needed to improve the fit and/or quality via email and
  • include detailed photos with descriptions of adjustments needed. Drawing on photos is required
  • Maintain a consistent fit following Windsor standards for both junior and plus sizing
  • Manage fit sample comments and approvals for multiple departments
  • Keep samples organized throughout the day

Key Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 yrs. experience with fits and/or technical design and/or product development
  • Experience creating and/or modifying patterns either in a professional or personal setting (not
  • required but preferred)
  • Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and CAD (Computer-Aided
  • Design) tools.  Experience with building tech packs. 
  • Garment construction knowledge.
  • Ability to review and approve grade sheet submits including understanding of general math and fractions
  • Strong understanding of textiles and fabric properties.
  • Understanding fashion trends and the ability to fit according to style/trends.
  • Ability to work well within a collaborative design/buying team environment
  • Careful attention to the small details of a design, such as stitching, fabric choice, and fit.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks or projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Organized with the ability to keep track of designs, fabric samples, and production timelines.
  • Awareness of fashion trends, market needs, and consumer preferences.
  • Strong communicator verbal and written
  • Problem solver
  • Ability to give garment measurements (not required, but preferred)
  • Identify potential production, quality, design and/or costing issues (not required, but preferred)

Physical/Environmental Demands and Overtime & Availability:

Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards. Must have the ability to walk short distances. Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a small amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects in addition to bending, kneeling, and crouching. Repetitive motion. Adequate movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. Team members are required to have close visual acuity to perform activities such as: sketching, preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
