Service Assistant Technician
This position is located in North Wales, Pennsylvania.

Summary:
As an assistant to a roofing service technician, the primary role involves providing essential support throughout various stages of roof inspections, repairs, and maintenance tasks. This includes assisting in equipment setup, preparing materials, and ensuring a safe work environment by adhering to established safety protocols. Additionally, the assistant may aid in documenting findings during inspections, organizing tools and supplies, and assisting with administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and communicating with clients. With a keen eye for detail and a willingness to learn, the assistant plays a crucial role in helping the roofing service technician efficiently complete projects while maintaining quality standards and client satisfaction.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Assists Forman in responding to service requests. Reviews service work orders, source materials that are not common truck stock, and prepares for the customer visit.
  2. Works efficiently to maintain a clean/ organized job site.
  3. Executes Production Department job site cleanups and returns as needed.
  4. Maintain truck stock. Cleans out truck of all debris the morning of or afternoon after each project. Refills commonly used items as needed and arranges them in an efficient and safe manor.
  5. Upholds G. Fedale core values while on the job site and in uniform. Is friendly and courteous towards customer and patrons at all times. Maintains professional appearance.
  6. Works with Service Technician to build skillsets. Asks questions and attends trainings.
  7. Assists Technician with work order closeout. Helps record pertinent information and accurate details of the project.
  8. Seeks to improve productivity and results on a daily basis.
  9. Follows all Company safety rules and operating procedures, practices and guidelines.
  10. Completes other tasks as assigned by Management.
  11. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
  1. A high school degree. Additional training or coursework in construction and/or customer service is a plus.
  2. 1+ years of experience in the home building, remodeling, or renovation markets as a skilled tradesman, independent contractor, or project manager..
  3. Strong 4-function math skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  4. Demonstrated computer skills.
  5. Excellent customer service skills, including the ability to keep calm and be clear with challenging customers, staff, and vendors.
  6. Strong oral and written communications skills when interacting with customers, staff, management, or vendors.
  7. Strong abilities to multi-task, prioritize activities, and react quickly to changing information.
  8. A valid driver's license with no DUIs and no restrictions on driving for company-related business.
  9. A clean, reliable, and insured personal vehicle to ensure a prompt start to the working day.
  10. Desirable personal traits including honesty, integrity, accuracy, high standards, fairness, and good listening and time management skills.
  11. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  12. No restrictions or requirements preventing the ability to work in the US for any US company.

Physical demands:
The ability to walk around an office, warehouse, or neighborhood, climb and descend stairs, work in a seated position at a desk for hours at a time, stand at a trade/home show for hours at a time, drive to and from offsite meetings, operate computers and phones, open/close file cabinets, bend/stand as necessary, set up and use an extension ladder, safely climb on, navigate around, and descend from residential and commercial roofs, and lift and carry up to 80 pounds.
