Job description

Description:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Assistant Technical Designer to support apparel development across multiple product categories. This role works closely with the Technical Design team, as well as overseas offices and factory partners, to assist with pattern corrections, fit approvals, and technical documentation throughout the product development process.


The Assistant Technical Designer plays an important role in ensuring that garments are developed accurately and efficiently from concept through production. The ideal candidate possesses strong organizational skills, a solid understanding of garment construction and fit, and the ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced, calendar-driven environment.


Responsibilities

  • Support the Technical Design team in reviewing fit samples and implementing pattern corrections throughout all stages of development
  • Assist with measuring garments and verifying specifications against approved standards
  • Update and maintain technical packages, measurement charts, and fit comments to ensure accuracy and consistency
  • Apply Technical Design feedback to patterns and technical documentation, ensuring all revisions are clearly communicated
  • Coordinate with overseas offices and factory partners to support timely execution of fit and pattern updates
  • Track sample status, fit approvals, and development milestones to help ensure adherence to production calendars
  • Review graded specifications and measurements for accuracy and consistency
  • Maintain organized records of fit comments, approvals, pattern revisions, and technical files
  • Assist in ensuring products meet brand standards, retailer requirements, quality expectations, and production feasibility
  • Support special projects and additional technical design initiatives as needed
Requirements:
  • Associateโ€™s or Bachelorโ€™s degree in Technical Design, Fashion Design, Patternmaking, or a related field preferred
  • 1โ€“3 years of experience in Technical Design, Product Development, Patternmaking, or a related apparel role
  • Understanding of garment construction, fit, grading, and patternmaking principles
  • Experience working with technical packages, measurement specifications, and fit samples
  • Familiarity with digital patternmaking software and apparel development systems is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent communication and follow-up skills when working with cross-functional teams and overseas partners
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Illustrator preferred
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
