About This Role

🌟 Assistant Teacher – Family Childcare | Lilly Gardens Learning Center (Milwaukee, WI)

Lilly Gardens Learning Center is seeking a caring and dependable Assistant Teacher to support daily classroom activities in our family childcare program. This role involves assisting with a mixed-age group, helping maintain a safe and nurturing environment, and supporting the Lead Teacher with routines, supervision, and engaging activities. The ideal candidate is patient, reliable, and passionate about working with children.


What You'll Do

📚 Duties:

  • Assist the Lead Teacher with daily activities and routines
  • Supervise children at all times to ensure safety and well-being
  • Help maintain a clean, organized, and nurturing environment
  • Support implementation of age-appropriate activities for a mixed-age group
  • Assist with meals, snacks, and daily transitions
  • Help with diapering, toileting, and hygiene routines
  • Maintain daily reports, attendance, and required documentation
  • Communicate respectfully with children, staff, and families

Requirements

✅ Requirements:

  • Must meet Wisconsin Assistant Teacher qualifications (Registry Level preferred)
  • Experience working with children (childcare or related setting preferred)
  • Ability to support a mixed-age group of children
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Reliable, patient, and professional
  • Able to pass background check and meet all state licensing requirements
  • Valid driver’s license preferred, but not required

Nice To Haves

  • Registry Level 4 or higher
  • Experience in a family childcare setting
  • Knowledge of Wisconsin childcare licensing rules
  • Experience assisting with lesson plans and activities
