Position Overview

The Sales Engineer will support customers and internal teams by reviewing project specifications, evaluating technical requirements, and helping develop customized HVAC equipment solutions for mission critical and hazardous environment applications. This role requires strong technical communication skills, and the ability to collaborate across departments to deliver practical and cost-effective solutions.

What You’ll Do
  • Review project specifications and customer requirements to tailor HVAC equipment selections that meet performance, safety, and operational needs.
  • Communicate directly with customers, engineers, and contractors on a technical level to explain equipment advantages, disadvantages, and application considerations.
  • Evaluate and discuss equipment performance criteria including airflow, cooling/heating capacity, environmental conditions, efficiency, and application-specific use cases.
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, and sales teams to develop practical and cost-effective equipment solutions for mission critical and hazardous environment applications.
  • Utilize HVAC knowledge and engineering experience to support equipment selection, troubleshooting, and system design discussions.
  • Assist customers in selecting equipment configurations that balance reliability, maintainability, energy efficiency, and budget requirements.
  • Interpret mechanical and electrical drawings, specifications, and submittal documents to ensure compliance with customer and project standards.
  • Support proposal development, technical documentation, and customer presentations as needed.
  • Maintain strong communication throughout the project and quoting process to ensure customer satisfaction and project success.
What We’re Looking For
  • Engineering degree or equivalent industry experience required
  • Experience with HVAC systems, mechanical systems, or engineered equipment sales/support preferred
  • Strong understanding of HVAC equipment applications, airflow, cooling/heating capacities, and system performance
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and professionally
  • Experience reviewing mechanical and electrical drawings and project specifications
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills
  • Experience with mission-critical, industrial, hazardous location, or explosion-proof HVAC applications is highly preferred
  • Experience with HVAC load calculation software or capacity analysis tools is a plus
