Keystone Engineering is currently seeking a Process Control Systems Engineer to work onsite at a client facility in the Geismar, Louisiana area.

Travel Requirements: Occasional site visits required
Essential Functions:
  • Work full-time onsite at a client facility in the Geismar area within a Process Engineering Team supporting operations, maintenance, and capital projects with control systems updates and upgrades.
  • Become familiar with plant processes, instrumentation, and control philosophy to develop and implement process control improvements.
  • Support the maintenance and troubleshooting of DCS related activities.
  • Create control narratives and develop logic for process control and automation.
  • Assist with configuration, installation, and maintenance activities for DCS and related components.
  • Review and cross-check P&IDs, instrument indexes, cable schedules, panel drawings, I/O Lists, and C&E charts to ensure the control system design basis is solid.
  • Review and assist with instrumentation wiring details to ensure the control system functionality will perform as designed.
  • Provide resident expertise on control system performance and long-term historians.
  • Communicate and maintain proper documentation related to the DCS system status, changes, and coordinate/conduct personnel training as needed.
  • Review facility DCS maintenance activities to ensure that manufacturing, construction, installation, and operational testing conform to all specifications, standards, and applicable codes.
  • Define spare parts and preventative maintenance requirements for DCS and related components
  • Ensure Process Safety and Risk Management objectives are practiced daily through participation in Management of Change (MOC), Process Hazards Analyses, and Pre-Start Up Safety Review checks.
  • Support alarm management efforts and provide expertise towards industry best practices.

Requirements:
  • BS in Engineering from an ABET accredited program (BSChE or EE preferred)
  • 5+ years of DCS programming experience from the Chemical Manufacturing or Oil & Gas industry
  • Experience with Emerson DeltaV, Honeywell Experion, Honeywell Safety Manager, Siemens APACS or Siemens PCS7 DCS systems.
  • Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to make field visits to view installations in control rooms and in process areas.
  • Must be able to wear all required PPE including respirators.
  • Must adhere to all plant safety regulations and respond to visual and audible alarms.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and solution advocate
  • Attention to detail
