Job description

APCO International is seeking a Senior System Analyst to serve as the subject matter expert for the organization's software applications supported by the Technology Department. The Senior System Analyst position plays a critical role in analyzing business and data processing needs, identifying technology solutions, and enhancing system functionality through software development, system upgrades, and process improvements. The Senior System Analyst will be responsible for Salesforce administration, SQL programming and database support, internal reporting requirements, SOP maintenance and creation, requirements gathering, and implementation planning. The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with analytical and problem-solving skills to deliver effective solutions that support APCO’s operational and strategic objectives.

General Description of Essential Job Tasks:
The following are general descriptions of the essential job tasks of the position.  Other related tasks may be assigned as necessary and appropriate.

  • Administer Salesforce environments, including user provisioning/deprovisioning, security roles, profiles, workflows, page layouts, configurations, and implementation of system releases and quarterly updates.
  • Develop, maintain, and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and database scripts to support business applications, reporting, data integration, and operational processes.
  • Accurately assess the risks associated with each solution design/project.
  • Respond to assigned help desk support tickets in a timely manner, coordinating with internal stakeholders and external vendors to achieve resolution.
  • Support a data audit plan (e.g., prevent duplicates, training, data deduping processes, etc.). 
  • Lead testing of fixes, patches, service packs, and upgrades. 
  • Support ongoing integration amongst data systems, web services including communications, communities, and other interactive online platforms.
  • Collaborate with vendor(s) to implement new functionality or software systems and work with vendor(s) to perform system upgrades. 
  • Work with cross-functional teams to define business requirements, re-engineer business processes and assist with the Technology department in developing solutions that meet APCO business needs. 
  • Maintain up-to-date end-user documentation to include SOPs, Process Guides, and other documents that can be used for training of end users. 
  • Keep abreast of developments in current and future software solutions.
Minimum Experience Requirements
  • Knowledge of Salesforce reporting, dashboards, workflows, flow automation, security model, and integrations.
  • Experience with relational databases, data migration, extract, transform, and load (ETL) processes, Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), and web services.
  • 5-8 years of directly related experience supporting help desk operations, managing cloud environments, or SalesForce administration.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a technical discipline such as Information Technology, computer science, systems engineering, or software engineering.
  • Knowledge of SQL databases and database administration is preferred.
