Job Title Assistant Women's Basketball Coach Division Office of the President Department Athletics Department Work Status Full Time Position Category Staff FLSA Exempt Pay Range Exempt Salary Range $75,000 / year Fund Source State Support Job Summary
The Assistant Women's Basketball Coach will assist the Women's Basketball Program and staff with all duties that pertains to Morgan State, NCAA and MEAC Guidelines. The new incumbent will also serve as a liaison between the Women's Basketball Program and the university community.
Job Duties
Job duties include:
  • Assisting the Head Coach with recruiting prospective student-athletes
  • Assisting with pre/post practice set up
  • Conducting eligibility reviews
  • Assisting with monitoring the academic performance of student athletes
  • Performing other duties as assigned
Requested Minimum Qualifications
Education:
The successful candidate must have achieved a Bachelor's Degree in any discipline from an accredited College or University.
Experience:
A minimum of three (3) years of coaching experience is required.
Full knowledge of MEAC/NCAA rules and regulations and working knowledge of SYNERGY and Film Scouting is required.
Other Preferences for Consideration
Preferences:
  • Five (5) years or more of coaching work experience is preferred.

  • Ability to provide instruction/feedback to student-athletes while standing, except during team breaks
  • Ability to lift, pull and push equipment used in Basketball activities/drills
  • Ability to climb stairs, bend, squat and other movements associated with coaching a Basketball program
  • Ability to use a computer, laptop, telephone, mats, props, etc.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Skill in cultivating and maintaining relationships.
