Job description

Software Engineer

The Software Engineer is responsible for analysis, design, development, testing and deployment of professionally engineered software solutions which meet or exceed Park Place Technologies’ quality standards and business needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with product managers, business analysts and the user community to establish, analyze and where appropriate document technical requirements.
  • Produce technical designs and ensure peer review.
  • Develop software in an agreed timescale.
  • Influence programming patterns and standards
  • Collaborate with QA engineers to create test plans and conduct unit (functional) and where appropriate integration and system testing.
  • Participate in the resolution of issues and software bugs identified as part of the SDLC or by software users.
  • Collaborate, share, and learn from team members, and actively follow all team processes.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Demonstrate core competency in programming fundamentals and best practices.
  • Be a strong problem solver and possess an excellent work ethic and attitude.
  • Possess strong organizational and process analysis skills.
  • Demonstrate willingness to work on your craft and take initiative in learning new skills.
  • Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

Entuity Software Support

Additional Responsibilities: 

  • Develop and maintain a library of Entuity software configurations and scripts that facilitate data collection and automated OS backups and OS upgrades for supported network devices.
  • Work closely with Entuity Software Development Team to incorporate Device Support configurations and scripts into Entuity software.
  • Assist customers with the development of their own Entuity software configurations and scripts.
  • Assist customers with the development of data integrations between Entuity software and third-party software.
  • Provide effective identification and resolution of customer problems, ensuring workarounds and/or software patches are made available in accordance with agreed service levels.
  • Ensure all customer problems and queries are logged in Park Place Technologies’ Helpdesk system, escalated where appropriate and tracked through to completion.
  • Engage with Sales/Pre-Sales Team to facilitate successful Proof of Concept trials.
  • Develop and maintain a full and current awareness of Park Place Technologies’ products.
  • Maintain an awareness of IT technologies relevant to the operation of Park Place Technologies’ products and services.

Basic Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience of MS Windows, Red Hat Linux and VMware.
  • Knowledge of network technologies and device types (routers, switches, load balancers, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Network device vendor certifications (CCNA, JNCIA).
  • Experience of operating and/or supporting Infrastructure Monitoring tools.
