Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) – Elementary School Opportunities – Dallas, TX

Amergis Educational Staffing is seeking dedicated Speech Language Pathology Assistants (SLPAs) for multiple elementary school opportunities in the Dallas, TX area for the upcoming school year.

This is an excellent opportunity to work alongside licensed Speech Language Pathologists while helping students develop the communication skills needed for academic and social success.

Position Details
  • Location: Dallas, TX Area
  • Start Date: August 31, 2026
  • Duration: 37 Weeks
  • Schedule: 37.5 Hours Per Week

Assignment Overview

SLPAs will provide speech and language services to elementary students under the supervision of a licensed SLP. Caseloads are approximately 65-70 students, and candidates should be flexible regarding campus assignment.

Virtual supervision and support from licensed Speech Language Pathologists will be provided throughout the assignment.

Responsibilities
  • Implement speech and language treatment plans developed by the supervising SLP
  • Provide individual and small-group therapy services
  • Collect and document student progress data
  • Assist with assessments and therapy preparation
  • Collaborate with teachers, families, and support staff
  • Maintain accurate documentation and service records
  • Support students in achieving communication and educational goals
Qualifications
  • Active Texas SLPA License
  • One year of SLPA experience preferred
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • School-based experience preferred
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams

The Speech Language Pathologist Assistant assists the Speech Language Pathologist in providing speech and language services.  The Speech Language Pathologist Assistant will have clinical, educational, documentation, and treatment related activities while working within the scope of responsibilities/ plan of care assigned by the Speech Language Pathologist and/or physician. 

Minimum Requirements: 

  • Must be a graduate of a SLPA program with an associate’s degree, or have a bachelor’s degree in a speech-language pathology or communication disorders program 
  • Successful completion of a minimum of 100 hours of supervised field work experience or its clinical experience equivalent as required by state and/or contract
  • Current certification or licensure as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant in the State of Practice 
  • Complies with all relevant  professional standards of  practice 
  • One (1) year of prior professional Speech-Language Pathology Assistant experience preferred
  • Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice 
  • TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable 
  • Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation) 
  • Must meet all federal, state and local requirements 
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
