Job description

The Town of Snowmass Village is looking to hire a Recreation Instructor to join our Parks, Recreation and Trails team! 
 

This is an in-person part-time position, offering part-time benefits and scheduled to start working on or after April 2026           

 
We are looking for a Recreation Instructor that will assist with the planning and execution of programs, will supervise participants to ensure their safety and well-being, communicates effectively and work cooperatively with participants, families, and supervisors.

Some of the day-to-day duties are listed below: 

Ensures the enjoyment and safety of all participants by maintaining the program site, implementing safe practices, and leading well organized activities.
Must be able to instruct relevant skills for specific activities.
Uses creativity and ingenuity to develop a variety of programs including activities, games, lessons, etc. as applicable to the activities taught.
Educates participants on etiquette, activity skills, and techniques.
Ensure that daily programs meet the general needs of participants by making any reasonable accommodations specific to guests as necessary.
Independently ensures correct roll call for programs, and runs transactions as needed for accurate record keeping.

The ideal candidate has the following qualifications:  

  • Relevant activity/sport specific training represented by a certification or award, preferred but not required.
  • Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED certification, preferred but not required; or able to acquire within 6 months after start date.
  • Enthusiasm, sense of humor, patience, self-control, good character, integrity and adaptability. Ability to deal with conflict professionally and effectively. Ability to relate to others, inside and outside of one's peer group.
