Job description

AFS is seeking a Security Program/Project Manager for an on-site role in Reston, VA. The Security Program/Project Manager will work with a team managing compliance and cybersecurity processes, focusing on security exceptions and enhancements in the public space. They ensure operational risk is mitigated and compliance requirements are met. This role will include writing policy documents, manage exceptions, and resolve tickets in a ticketing system.

The Security Program/Project Manager will have the opportunity to work on high-impact compliance and cybersecurity initiatives in a collaborative team environment, and gain exposure to operational risk management and secure feature development.

The Work:

  • Interface with clients on technical and business issues from project initiation through delivery.
  • Drive program/project schedules and status reports.
  • Assessing Azure services for conformance to internal standards, process, and procedures (SPPs).
  • Triage exceptions to SPPs based upon operational risk and assist supported teams through the exception and risk determination process.
  • Develop and implement a method to track and manage findings for trend analysis and variations.
  • Handling security exceptions related to secure feature initiatives and KPIs.
  • Managing compliance processes and ticketing workflows for service teams.
  • Typical Task Breakdown & Operating Rhythm:
    • Participate in team meetings and take meeting minutes.
    • Open and close tickets in Microsoft's internal ticketing system.
    • Communicate with multiple teams to resolve exceptions.
    • Track findings for trend analysis and provide status reports.


Here's what you need:

  • US Passport Required
  • 5-7 years in compliance and cybersecurity-related roles

Bonus points if you have:

  • A Bachelors Degree
  • Microsoft or Project Management certifications

Security Clearance:

  • Must have an active TS/SCI with Polygraph
