Job description

Position Summary The Risk Management Specialist coordinates policy renewals, premium invoicing and allocations, claims tracking and reconciliation, and maintenance of insurance records within the Origami RMIS system. This position partners closely with brokers, accounting teams, and business units to ensure accurate reporting, timely reconciliations, and effective support of risk management operations. Primary Job Responsibilities
  • Verify and prepare weekly premium and vendor invoices, obtaining proper approvals from various subsidiaries for submittal to the finance team for payment.
  • Maintain record of pending premium payments from insurers.
  • Assist with the renewal of a portfolio of 150+ insurance policies extending across primary coverage lines of marine, trucking, and aviation.ย  Includes gathering data from multiple subsidiaries, creating a consolidated submission to our insurance brokers, and requesting and verifying accuracy of loss runs.ย 
  • Assist with preparing premium allocation spreadsheets for subsidiaries.
  • Maintain information in Shared Drive and Origami RMIS system related to insurance policies and premiums and generate reports as needed. Follow up with brokers as necessary for outstanding policies and endorsements.
  • Ongoing maintenance of exposure schedules.
  • Electronic filing of insurance correspondence and documentation.
  • Proof the quarterly bond report, process invoice, and remit copy to treasury
  • Collect L&I premium reporting from BUs for input into Origami.
  • Assist with administrative needs of Saltchukโ€™s captive insurance company.
  • Process TPA Reconciliations and Invoices
  • Marine Claims-SIR Reports โ€“ monthly approvals and report review including communication w/ accounting on expected claim reimbursements. Work in collaboration with Aon Marine Claims.
  • Marine actuarial reports and flagging claims. Reconcile claims between Origami and Aon Marine Claims.
  • Annual marine claim reconciliation and data true-up between Origami and Aon Marine Claims.
  • Maintaining internal records for invoices, receipts for internal use with accounting and various business units.
  • Monthly reconciliation and communication with accounting and business units for payments received from insurers and deductible reimbursements.
  • Various department administrative tasks
  • Various support for administrative tasks related to actuarial reports for runoff insurance programs.
  • Managing CMS reporting on behalf of Saltchuk.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Minimum of 3 yearsโ€™ experience in an accounting, treasury or finance role.
  • Computer operation skills: advanced Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word skills, knowledge of Windows environment, and experience with a RMIS platform, such as OrigamiRisk, is a plus.
  • Analytical thinking, problem solving, planning/organizing, decision-making, and follow-through.
  • Ability to pay attention to detail and produce an accurate and organized work product.ย 
  • Ability to utilize existing procedures and suggest process improvements.
  • Ability to work independently on multiple assignments and under deadline pressure, ability to set priorities and schedule work, willingness to accept new responsibilities.
  • Strong skills in interpersonal relations, ability to work closely with others, ability to cooperate with others in a manner that recognizes the importance of teamwork in achieving company goals.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Education & Certifications
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Accounting, Finance, Risk Management or related field.ย 
  • CPA certification is preferred.

    • Competitive base annual salary range: $85,000-100,000 depending on experience and qualifications
    • Eligibility for annual target bonus of 20% of base salary
    • Total Cash Compensation, at target bonus ranges from $102,000 โ€“ $120,000
