Position Summary

The Enterprise Risk Manager is responsible for developing and maintaining processes for identifying, tracking, mitigating, and communicating enterprise risk for Panorama Global. Key areas for the role include risk management, entity compliance, data protection, cybersecurity, record retention, insurance, and state registrations. The Enterprise Risk Manager will support the Leadership Team's strategic decision-making and help inform organizational objectives and priorities based on collected risk assessments, which present both opportunities and challenges. As a member of Panorama's Operations Team, this role will work across Panorama organizations and in close collaboration with Business Strategy & Operations, Finance, Financial Planning & Analysis, Grants, Contracts, & Compliance, and PACT (People and Culture Team).ย  This exempt, full-time position reports to the Vice President, Finance.ย ย 


While this role is open to candidates based anywhere in the U.S., we prioritize hiring in Panoramaโ€™s hub cities (Seattle, Denver, NYC, and Washington, DC).

If the hired candidate is based in one of Panoramaโ€™s hub cities (Seattle, Denver, Washington, DC, and New York City), they are expected to work in the office four days per week starting in 2026. For Washington, DC, and Denver, this requirement will go into effect once the offices are established, no earlier than Q4 2026.ย 


Essential Duties & Responsibilities ย 
ย 

Enterprise Risk Managementย 

  • Design, implement, and continuously improve the organizationโ€™s risk management framework to align with strategic objectives and regulatory requirements.ย 

  • Identify, assess, and monitor enterprise-wide risks, including financial, operational, strategic, compliance, and reputational risks.ย 

  • Develop and maintain risk registers, dashboards, and Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) to track exposure and mitigation progress.ย 

  • Assist in the preparation of comprehensive risk reports to senior leadership, the Board, and the Audit & Finance Committee.ย 

  • Coordinate with Associate Director, Grants & Contracts when appropriate to identify and resolve compliance and risk issues presented by agreements (including but not limited to permissible 501(c)(c) charitable activities, lobbying/political activity, fundraising, funding from governmental entities, and high-risk activities potentially impacting corporate insurance coverages).

  • Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of the enterprise trademark strategy.ย 

Operations and Policy Managementย 

  • Oversee organizational policies in data protection, cybersecurity, internal controls, record retention, urgent matters response, and more.ย 

  • Coordinate implementation of record retention and destruction practices across teams, including schedule tracking and routine clean-ups.ย 

  • Manage international entity governance and compliance under the direction of VP, Finance.ย 

  • Administer enterprise insurance programs, state registrations, and charitable registrations, including serving as the primary point of contact and maintaining organizational compliance calendars.ย 

Compliance and Governanceย 

  • Conduct first-level legal reviews and collaborate with external legal counsel and internal teams on key risk and compliance matters.ย 

  • Act as the point of contact for data protection inquiries and GDPR compliance; ensure adherence to applicable laws, regulations, grant requirements, and industry standards.ย 

  • Support business continuity planning, crisis management, staff training, and emergency response efforts.ย 

  • Coordinate allocations and compliance requirements between the member organizations of the Panorama Group.ย 

  • Assist Board and Audit & Finance Committee governance activities, including preparation of materials, Board resolutions, annual conflict of interest review, and maintaining organizational records.ย 

  • Partner with the VP, Fiscally Sponsored Programs, to ensure sponsored project compliance.ย

  • Benchmark ERM practices against sector standards and leading non-profit frameworks.ย 

  • Recommend and assist with the implementation of improvements to strengthen organizational resilience, sustainability, and accountability.ย

  • May manage Individual Contributors and/or Interns, ensuring Panoramaโ€™s performance management concepts are upheld, and supporting their professional development and learning.ย 

  • Participate in and actively contribute to internal Learning & Development opportunities, including People Managers training sessions.ย 


Typical Knowledge, Skills, and Abilitiesย ย 

  • Minimum of 6-8 years of progressive experience in risk management, internal audit, compliance, or operations โ€“ ideally within a nonprofit, NGO, or mission-driven organization.ย 

  • Strong understanding of enterprise risk management frameworks (e.g., COSO ERM, ISO 31000) and their application in non-profit settings.ย 

  • Familiarity with legal frameworks governing organizations exempt from taxation under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.ย 

  • Familiarity with non-profit financial management, grant compliance, and program evaluation.ย 

  • Familiarity with data privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA, etc.).ย 

  • Experience in maintaining tracking systems, registers, or dashboards.ย 

  • Experience implementing organizational policies and procedures across teams.ย 

  • Excellent analytical, strategic, and problem-solving abilities.ย 

  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage leadership, staff, and board members.ย 

  • Exceptional project management and organizational skills, including meticulous attention to detail and the ability to balance workload under deadlines and with multiple priorities.ย 

  • High ethical standards and commitment to the organizationโ€™s mission and values.ย 

  • Change and crisis management experience.ย 

Desired Qualificationsย ย 

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Business Administration, Risk Management, Non-profit Management or Finance.ย 

  • Experience in grant-funded program management, donor compliance, or organizational governance is strongly preferred.ย 

  • Experience in compliance for a multi-entity organizationย 

  • Certified Risk Manager (CRM), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), or related professional certification preferred.ย
