Job description

Job Summary:

We are currently seeking a Life Enrichment Assistant who is ready to bring fun, innovation, and excitement to the resident at King David. The Life Enrichment Assistant assists with planning, implementation, and evaluation of life enriching programs. These programs should reflect the interests of the residents in all areas including physical, cognitive, social, psychological, cultural, educational, vocational, and spiritual. Standards are set at the highest practical level to enable residents to experience fulfillment at their highest level possible. This may be achieved by working directly with residents in small or large groups or as individuals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with planning and implementing monthly resident programs and calendars.

  • Assist with planning and implementing special events and family engagement events.

  • Assist with and/or participate in resident meetings such as Residents' Association.

  • Assist with assessing resident activity interests and needs.

  • Assist in developing resident activity care plans and participate in care conference meetings as needed.

  • Assist with coordination of activities and transportation across campus.

  • Provide transportation to residents as needed.

  • Available to work rotating weekends and holidays as assigned to provide resident programming.

  • Assist with decorating for holidays and special events.

  • Assist with employee engagement and relation efforts.

  • Assist the Lead Life Enrichment Assistant with all departmental responsibilties, and perform other appropriate duties as assigned.

Essential Qualifications:

  • College degree in a related field preferred or, high school diploma and experience in a related field

  • Valid driver's license

  • Sensitivity to senior adults and their needs

  • Computer literacy required

  • Ability to motivate others

  • Creativity and innovation

  • Flexibility to change based on the needs of the residents and the building.

  • Ability to take direction and follow through

  • Ability to understand and assure compliance with applicable licensure standards

  • Strong interpersonal skills and guest relations
