Job description

Overwatch Construction Management is looking for an Assistant Resident Engineer to support our construction management team. The Assistant Resident Engineer will work closely with the Resident Engineer and Project Manager to oversee construction activities, ensuring compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and timelines.

Salary Range: $135,000-$150,000

Project Start Date: July 1, 2026

Project Duration: 24 months

Full-time, on-site position.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the Resident Engineer in daily site management and inspection activities.
  • Review and maintain project documentation, including daily reports, inspection logs, RFIs, and submittals.
  • Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure project milestones are met.
  • Support the resolution of technical issues and construction challenges.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in preparing project reports and documentation for audits and closeout.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • 5-10 years of experience in construction engineering or similar roles, preferably on transit/transportation projects
  • Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and quality control.
  • Familiarity with construction management software such as Procore or Primavera P6 is a plus.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively on-site and collaboratively in a team environment.
