Job description

Litigation Associate | Austin, Texas

Germer PLLC is proud to be recognized as one of the top 50 law firms in the State of Texas. The firm represents businesses, insurers, governmental entities, and individuals across a broad range of civil litigation matters and is known for its experienced trial lawyers and collaborative approach to client service. Germer PLLC is committed to attracting and developing talented attorneys who are seeking meaningful, hands-on litigation experience within a supportive and fast-paced environment.

Position Overview

Germer PLLC is seeking a Litigation Associate with a minimum of 4 to 6 years of experience to join its Austin office. The Associate will assist with and, as experience allows, handle an active docket of matters, primarily supporting insurance defense matters while gaining exposure to the firm's broader civil litigation practice. This is an excellent opportunity for an early career attorney who is eager to build practical courtroom and case management experience, while also providing a strong platform for more experienced candidates who are ready to take on increased responsibility. The firm offers flexible work arrangements that will be determined based on the candidate's experience, practice needs, and office alignment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, legal memoranda, and other legal documents
  • Prepare client reports and case evaluations
  • Attend hearings, depositions, and mediations if necessary
  • Assist with case strategy and file management
  • Support trial preparation and participate in trial as appropriate
  • Manage deadlines across multiple active matters

Qualifications

  • JD from an ABA accredited law school
  • Admitted to practice in the state of Texas
  • 4 to 6 years of litigation experience preferred
  • Excellent writing, analytical, and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple matters in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-motivated with a strong desire to grow as a litigator

We offer competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, 401K and more. Some remote work can be an option and applicants who reside in the surrounding area will be considered.
