Job description

MDW Associates is currently seeking a Regulatory Impact Analyst to support the Office of the Director, Administration & Management Privacy, Civil Liberties, and Transparency Directorate (ODA&M(PCLT)) in Alexandria, Virginia. The Regulatory Impact Analyst will provide full-time support services to the Regulatory Directorate (RD) within ODA&M(PCLT). The successful candidate must demonstrate a familiarity with, and ability to be effective in, the DoW working environment.

The Regulatory Impact Analyst may perform a combination of some or all of the following duties:

  • Review and comment on the regulatory impact analysis cost/benefit analyses (CBAs) for Federal regulations, guidance documents, and notices.
  • Manage quarterly Action Officer Training for the Regulatory Division.
  • Present the Regulatory Impact Analysis module of the quarterly Action Officer Training.
  • Support quarterly Federal Register Liaison Officer training.
  • Manage the training and template content for the RD training website.
  • Develop training and instructional videos for Action Officers.
  • Support Action Officers with OMB ROCIS entries.
  • Daily review of Federal Register published docs for DoW.
  • Track all DoW published documents and costs.

Required Experience/Skills:

  • Executive level technical experience with 7 years or more of relevant experience. At least one (1) year of working within the DoW, or another Federal agency preferred.
  • Experience in providing economic analysis to assist the Federal government with preparing cost/benefit analyses (CBAs) and/or cost effectiveness analyses for Federal regulations, guidance documents, and notices.
  • Ability to provide cost/benefit analyses that will reflect the cost and benefits to both the public/private sectors and the DoW.
  • Experience working within the DoW or other Federal agency, or as contract support to such agency, working with Federal regulatory, privacy, civil liberties, or FOIA program(s) is preferred.

Education Requirement(s):

  • Master's degree in economics with training in mathematics, especially in the related fields of statistics and computer science.

Clearance Requirement(s):

  • Candidates for this position must have an Active US Security Clearance (Secret).
